Art

The major goals of the Art Program at Whitby:

- Experiment with different techniques and materials while understanding the principles and concepts of art. 

- Through the creative process, students will learn how to control materials and use different tools to achieve specific qualities.

- Students in the Upper School identify and apply art skills, as well as use vocabulary of the various elements. 

- In the Units of Inquiry, art is not seen as a linear process thus students experience it through observation, experimentation, reflection on existing artwork, practice and development of techniques.
