WHITBY ALUMNAE AND FACULTY PARTAKE IN EVE ENSLER'S NEW PROJECT:  "I AM AN EMOTIONAL CREATURE: THE SECRET LIFE OF GIRLS AROUND THE WORLD"

World famous playwright and activist Eve Ensler has written a new script for high school girls, "I Am An Emotional Creature:  The Secret Life of Girls Around the World".  Last year, she asked Whitby faculty member, Kim Guzowski to develop the theatre, culture, language arts and health curriculums that accompany world-wide productions and studies of Ms. Ensler's new work.  Ms. Guzowski developed a curriculum that is currently being used in pilot projects in seven countries and will be available to the public from the VDAY foundation for use in conjunction with Ms. Ensler's text soon.

As part of her curriculum developing responsibilities, Ms. Guzowski spearheaded the organization of an adult curriculum advisory panel and a girls advisory panel.  Whitby Language Arts Curriculum Co-ordinator, Nicole Butterfield, is the Language Arts supervisor and an adult panel member for the project.  Whitby Alumnae, Carley Sposta, Emily Teall and Noelle Valentine, are members of the girls advisory panel.

Whitby Alumna Noelle Valentine will perform in a special reading of this new project as a fundraiser for the V-Girls project.  This reading will be directed by Rosario Dawson and be performed on Friday, February 5th at 7:30pm at the Urban Zen Center at Stephan Weiss Studio, 711 Greenwich Street at Charles Street, NYC.  If you wish to attend, please go to VDAY.org and click on the V-Girls project to purchase tickets.  CONGRATULATIONS, NOELLE!
