Giving at Whitby School

This is an exciting time at Whitby, and we continue to be grateful for all that your generosity makes possible. Your gifts to Whitby are an investment in our children, our teachers and the future of our School. Giving plays a critical role in enabling us to sustain and enhance the programs, services, and resources that allow our students to have an excellent educational experience above and beyond what tuition covers.

For nearly 55 years we have benefited from the generosity of alumni, parents, grandparents, friends and employees to support Whitby’s mission and fund our future in academic excellence. Partnerships with educational institutions, IB curriculum advancements, professional development, the maintenance and expansion of the campus grounds, classroom facilities, smart technology and much more are specifically supported and funded though the generous giving of our Whitby Community.

The Office of Institutional Advancement works closely with the Board of Trustees, Faculty, Staff, and volunteers to ensure that Whitby is a primary philanthropic priority of our current and alumni families. In 2011 – 2012 we raised over $1.4 million in unrestricted and restricted dollars, which supported our strategic plan initiatives.

In 2011-2012 we exceeded this figure, raising over $1.6 million in unrestricted and restricted dollars.  This is an amazing testament to the support of our wonderful Whitby community!For more details please take a moment to review our 2011-2012 Annual Report here, where we share the sucesses of this past year, and highlight the amazing initiatives that have been made possible by the generosity of the entire Whitby community.

This fiscal year our goal is to supplement 7% of our revenue with our Whitby Fund contributions, which is one of the cornerstones of our unrestricted fundraising program.  

In addition to giving a gift to the Whitby Fund, we welcome your support at the Spring Benefit and participating in your employer’s matching gift program. In addition to the above, there are restricted giving opportunities that arise from time to time, so please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement to dicuss.

As we prepare for the future there is much to look forward to and we are fortunate to be able to benefit from the generosity of time, money, and spirit that our donor and volunteer community bring to support our mission, current students and future.
