High School Counseling and Matriculations
At Whitby, our educational journey is a comprehensive experience from preschool through middle school. We focus exclusively on these formative years to prepare our students for a future where they can thrive. Our graduates are sought after by an array of high schools because they know Whitby students are not only strong academically but will also be solid members of their next school community. We partner with you and your child to navigate this exciting transition, ensuring the process is as personalized and reassuring as the education they have received here.
Parents choose Whitby for the entire family, but selecting a high school is a deeply personal decision for an eighth grader. It's about their unique interests and passions as they begin to chart their own course forward, and they are ready to be equal partners in the process along with their parents. We’re here to support our families every step of the way. Kristin White, our Director of High School Counseling, works closely with students and parents, exploring each child’s academic and extracurricular interests and finding an optimal school community, size, and location where they can flourish.
Our support is highly individualized, from advising on application essays and preparing for interviews to completing applications. Thanks to our low student-to-teacher ratio, our teachers write deeply personal and knowledgeable letters of recommendation, which are an invaluable part of an application. We also prepare children with practice interviews and courses for standardized admissions tests, so they can feel confident and ready. Any time during your Whitby journey, you are welcome to contact Kristin to learn more about how we prepare students and families for highly successful high school experiences.
Whitby graduates are well-prepared for accelerated programs at top high schools, including Brunswick School, Greenwich Academy, Greenwich Country Day School, Greenwich High School, and other regional day and boarding schools. We are proud that our graduates are well-prepared to attend a wide range of top high schools, and they are highly successful in gaining acceptance to their preferred choices.
