School Sale an Opportunity for Learning Economics

ME-Sale-resized.jpgEarlier this month, third and fourth graders (learn more about Lower School here) held an in school sale, selling original handmade items to students, parents, faculty and staff.

The sale was directly tied to what they learned in their Economics Unit as they focused on marketing, keeping track of inventory, purchasting materials and calculating profits.

Josh is the Content Marketing Coordinator for Whitby School. A former magazine editor, Josh first drew an interest in journalism after the 2004 Boston Red Sox won the World Series, wanting to someday be on the field for a championship, while having subpar baseball skills. His desire to become a sportswriter eventually faded and he developed an interest in memoirs and human interest stories.
